My friend Klaus pointed me to this short YouTube video (narrated in German) of some American pilots and aircraft at Ching Chuan Kang Air Base in 1976.
I believe that the F-4 fighter aircraft were probably detached from Kadena Air Base on Okinawa.

one of the three pilots (0:30 ~ 0:40) shows his unit as 67th TFS, which was belonged to 18th TFW with its main base at Kadena.
As I knew, the soldiers of US 7th Fleet had been landing in Taiwan for the celebration of 4th of July 2010, and then deployed in CCK air base.
ROC-in-exile is not a country in Taiwan and not the government of
Taiwanese people, either.

Thanks for sharing. I posted a translation of the narration in the description to the Youtube clip:

So you mean these soldiers actually were not stationed in Taiwan at all?

No, I don't think so when I learned the truth of Taiwan legal status after WWII and found that Taiwan is exactly under the control of USMG.
US DOD ( Pentagon )is highly appreciated ,however, who is protecting Taiwan's security all the time.
In fact, I visited the website of US Navy everyday and read the reports about US Navy activities in West Pacific Ocean, including South China Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, Sea of Japan....etc.
I understand what US DOD is doing for Taiwan Island but most of poor Taiwanese people do not understand
due to have been fed poison education by KMT and ROC-in-exile for 65 years.

Yes, they are, but they are not quite clear about the truth of Taiwan legal status according to SFPT and International Law.
They only can argue to each other about the questions and problems caused by KMT and corrupt ROC-in-exile.
It's really poor and sad in Taiwan.

I was in Taichung First Senior High School between 1971-1974 in Taichung. I did see those F4 Phantoms streaking through the sky all the times from CCK. I knew for sure at the time that our air force did not have any phantom and we never did own any (it was quite distinct from the F5 and F104). F4's were there when US asked Taiwan to hand over a large number of F5's to Vietnamese airforce when US decided to Vietnamise the war in Indochia. The deployment was to fill the gap until our airforce can be resupplied with new F5's.
